Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” — Psalm 126:2
I started this blog for a number of reasons. Those reasons change depending on the day and whether or not I’ve showered that week, but the core reasons stay the same.
- I am a new mother.
- I am still a fairly new wife.
- I am a fairly new follower of Christ.
- I am a writer at heart (regardless of what I do for a paycheck), and I wanted a place to hone that skill and keep a log of my life so I can remember and share.
- I have a lot to say and a healthy ego. I like to think that people might care about what I have to say…
I am Rachel. I married Mr. Rachel in 2008 and this year we welcomed our first (and maybe only) gift from God: Squirmy. Mr. Rachel works his precious heart out, so I find myself at home a lot without him. This leaves me a lot of time to think (and write). I am a teacher and with the arrival of the baby, I’ve been able to merge my maternity leave with my summer off, so I won’t be returning to work until August. You’ll be able to hear about all this and more here. I hope you’ll come back often and comment even more. We may not agree on everything, but I want to hear your point of view (but remember the ego — no Rachel-bashing). This blog is mostly a place of laughter and joy, but we’ll share opinions and tears just the same. From my home to yours…welcome!
